Fortress of Legends is two days of meetings with writers, fairy tale authors and guides, as well as fun activities for children and adults. The programme includes puppet theater performances, meetings with a falconer, a sorceress, gold panning and treasure hunts for the youngest. Recently in the fortress you can borrow a metal detector and try your hand at exploration in a specially prepared place. During the festival, the nooks and crannies of the fortress will also hide small “treasures” which will be searched for by members of the Hunter search group from Polkowice. Field canteen “At the back” will present a huge cake in the shape of the fortress, and invited guests from various corners of Lower Silesia will tell legends from their places. Guests from the Gold Mine in Złoty Stok, Klodzko Fortress, Museum of Household Appliances from Ziębice, Karkonosze Secrets and Princess Margaret from Grodno Castle have announced their presence. An additional attraction will be meetings for children and adults with well-known authors. Joanna Lamparska, author of books about mysteries, castles and underground will tell us about treasures hidden in Lower Silesia, Tomasz Duszyński, writer will take us on the trail of robbers and explain what inspired the Brothers Grimm. Ludmiła Gajda from the Ducal Tower in Siedlęcin will explain where King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table came from in Lower Silesia.
The Fortress of Legends is intended to be an attraction for the whole family, but also has an educational value. After all, in every legend there is a grain of truth, and discovering the unknown is exciting. After all, each of us is a child curious about the world.
The organizers of the Legends Fortress Festival are the Srebrna Góra Stronghold and Joanna Lamparska’s Foundation for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage “Projekt Historia”. Cezary Przybylski, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Province, has assumed honorary patronage of the festival. Prizes were funded by Militaria.pl
