The adventure continues!
VISUALISATIONS BECOME REALITY.
The connection between Ravelin and Horn Works is being restored!
Work on the western part of the Silver Mountain fortification has been underway since September 2022.
Since then, the jungle within the bridge has been exposed, the moat has been deconstructed, part of the red sandstone gate portal has been found and the abutments have been re-bricked.
Over the winter and spring, carpenters prepared the timber for the four bridge structures, so that the assembly of the components on site now goes at lightning speed. After some difficult transport, the wooden structure pictured here was assembled in five days. Two more weeks and the bridge will be ready 😊.
This will allow materials to be transported to rebuild the gate and further parts of the Fortress towards the Donjon. In parallel, work is continuing on the other three bridges. There is a lot going on…
On this occasion there will be something to celebrate at the upcoming 7th Beer and Cheese Festival – on 15 July, to which you are cordially invited.
