Twierdza Srebrna Góra

FAQ

Are tours taking place as normal due to the pandemic?

For reasons of safety in the state of the COVID-19 pandemic, visitors to our fortress are required by the government to cover their mouths and noses, keep a distance of at least 1.5 m from other people and disinfect their hands with a disinfectant that is available at strategic points during the tour.

The new tenant of Fort Spitzberg-Ostrog started work in January 2018. After several months of intensive cleaning work, more than 30 tonnes of rubbish and debris were removed from the fort area. The tidy fort, with refreshed interiors housing dioramas and exhibitions, was opened on 1 July 2018.

Night Visits take place every Saturday throughout the year once a group of at least 20 people has gathered.

After booking, tickets will be available at the box office, which opens 30 minutes before the start of the night tour. We recommend to come a little bit earlier to see the sunset from the vantage point 685 m above sea level.

On the day of the Night Visits, you can park your car upstairs at the Fortress (in winter only for persistent drivers).

The Srebrna Góra Stronghold is accessible from the Pass, where the car park is located, by a 1 km long road (asphalt serpentine forest road), which is accessible on foot for tourist traffic for 15~25 minutes.

Exceptions include people with disability status, women in advanced pregnancy and participants of occasional events, who, upon prior notification, can drive to the Silver Mountain Fortress by car.

In the area of the Srebrna Góra Stronghold, both at the ticket office and at the KANTYNA toll house you can pay by card.

The Silver Mountain Fortress is open to four-legged dogs.

We only ask that you keep your dog on a lead so that it does not frighten our goats and sheep that walk around our Fortress.

If it is necessary due to the breed or character of the dog, please wear a muzzle.

Tickets for the basic guided tour of the Silver Mountain Fortress can be purchased on site at the ticket office.
